Vest Keramiek, Netherlands: Fat Lava 'Teapot'

Regular price £45.00 Sale

A quirky teapot-shaped ceramic object with a thick, fat lava glaze made by Dutch company Vest Keramiek, founded by Marius and Hugo van Woerden in the 1970s.

I have read somewhere that these were intended as flower pots, but I sometimes come across these with lids so I am not sure if that is true.

I think of it more as an artistic ornament, I love the way the glaze takes this form out of the ordinary and makes it slightly surreal.

In excellent vintage condition. May have had a lid at some point but this in no way detracts from the item.

14 cm (5.5") high, 17 cm (7") across and 524g in weight.

Otto, the troll (nfs) is for scale and measures 8 cm (3")
