Silberdistel, West Germany: Vase 44 in Charcoal and Grey
A vintage ceramic vase from one of my favourite manufacturers of the Fat Lava era, Silberdistel. Quite a small company, so their vases are harder to find.
Dating from the 1960s-70s, I love the mottled, organic looking glaze, in subdued shades of pale grey and charcoal, and laid on thickly enough to give some surface texture too. A very striking piece that looks great an lots of different contexts.
This one is quite a large vase at 20 cm (8.5") high and is in excellent vintage condition, still bearing the original sticker too.
