Scheurich, West Germany: Vase 485 with Amsterdam / Sliced Onion Decor in Blue
A vintage 1970s West German ceramic vase by Scheurich.
I am a big fan of this decor so I have lots in various colours and sizes. They look fabulous as a collection!
The relief is modelled on tulip bulbs (hence 'Amsterdam'), but this decor is often called 'Sliced Onion'.
Glazed a shiny, summer sky blue, great for a big bunch of flowers of all kinds.
This is 25 cm (9.8") high and 12cm (4.7") in diameter.
Condition is good: there is a mark to the rim and a few small glaze misses and one fleabite. The mould line is also very pronounced which some may see as a fault. There is also quite a bit of crazing to the glaze. I have tried to show all these in the photos, so please study them carefully.
