A beautiful porcelain vase made by Carn Pottery in Cornwall, probably dating from the 1970s.
John Beusmans has a very characteristic style, his pottery is instantly recognisable and becoming very collectable. He established his pottery in 1971, but is still in business today.
The fine porcelain has a bisque finish and a blue colour wash style glaze over the top, which just brings out all the details and textural elements of the shape and decoration.
This is a small posy vase, 11 cm (4.5") high with an elongated neck and pierced details which can be used for single stems.
My cat likes this vase too, so he helped me with my photography in the garden!
